Podcast #25 is dedicated to the short-lived Bay Area rock band Overwhelming Colorfast (www.myspace.com/overwhelmingcolorfast). The band formed in 1990 in Antioch, CA and was frequently compared to Hüsker Dü and The Buzzcocks. Six months after their first performance, the band was signed to an offshoot of Sony and in the studio with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). Colorfast toured throughout the US with artists like Ramones and Social Distortion, as well as on their own, but commercial success was not forthcoming.

The band experienced a great deal of bad luck in their brief career, and Overwhelming Colorfast broke up in 1997. In this podcast, I interviewed band leader Bob Reed who tells the story of the band from its inception to its premature demise. In between interview clips, you will hear music from all three of the band's albums, plus a rare Minutemen cover.
