For Dark Stuff Podcast #28, Dave and Keith bring you a short blast of some top indie rock from the last couple of years. After mentioning Nick Lowe in Podcast #27, he is given the honor of kicking off this episode. His song, "They Called It Rock," comes from his excellent 'Jesus of Cool' album, which was recently re-released in honor of its 30th anniversary.
One quick note. On more than one occasion, we refer to Robbers On High Street as a British band. They're not. They're from New York. Not sure where the British idea came from, but obviously, a quick look at "the google" would have corrected that false impression. Sorry. The band still sounds like Spoon. We stand by that.
The music:
Nick Lowe - "They Called It Rock"
Blur - "On Your Own"
Robbers On High Street - "Japanese Girls"
The Life and Times - "My Last Hostage"
The Duke Spirit - "The Step and the Walk"
French Miami - "Multi Caliber Rifles"
